Masih satu saudara dengan Lumia 720, Nokia Lumia 520 memiliki layar yang lebih kecil yaitu 4 inci dengan resolusi sama 480 x 800 piksel. Memiliki desain colorful yang menarik perhatian konsumen. Resolusi kameranya sebesar 5MP namun tidak ada kamera depan. Ponsel yang berbobot hanya 124 gram ini berjalan diatas sistem operasi Windows Phone 8 dengan chipset dari Qualcomm berprosesor CPU dual-core berkecepatan 1GHz saja, RAM nya juga tidak terlalu besar hanya 512MB dan GPU yang disematkannya yaitu Adreno 305 yang sama pada Lumia 720.
